However, this Monday is a little bit different. This Monday there is no driving to that brick building on the corner, close to downtown that has become some sort of second home over the past couple of years (half of everything I own seems to have found it's way into that building!) There is no lengthy, high pitch "Helloooooooo!" to be exchanged between the curly-headed, dependable, spitfire that easily became one of my best friends within months of our doing "business" together. There is no team meeting, giant to do list or inbox full of people awaiting a response.
Instead, today I find myself in a local coffee shop between plans trying to determine what it means for me to feel productive. Today I will begin a new routine and start new Monday traditions. This particular Monday is something I haven't quite figured out yet.
You see, Friday was my final farewell from an organization that took a chance on me a little over two years ago. An organization that decided it felt I had what it would take to meet the needs of their program. And I can't describe to you how grateful I am to have had that opportunity and for the people that helped to make that happen.
So "What now?" Good question. Great question, actually. There are a few things in the works, but for the most part I'm not quite sure. I've decided to focus some of my time on the things that bring me joy and that fuel me. I plan to paint more, read more, photograph and even dance a little more - early heads up to our neighbors across the way. Maybe I'll take some classes or get into woodworking. Maybe I'll finish this whole process of making our house seem more like a home (it's only been a year!) Right now I am particularly grateful, because I am having the opportunity to figure out what is my next best step.
No matter what it is, I've decided that I'm going to have a little fun figuring it out along the way!
